To do that follow the following steps;
Step 1. In the given invoice, click on the add credit note as shown below.
Step 2. On the page that opens up, select the credit method as shown below, then type the reason then click on the add credit note as shown below.
Step 3. On the page that opens up, click on the document you wish to create a credit note as shown below.
Step 4. On the page that opens up, click on the edit button as shown below.
In this case, the reason we are adding a credit note is because we overcharged our customer. In the invoice, the unit price of the product was 500 instead of 300.
Step 5. When we click on the edit button, we can then type the correct unit price of the product. Then click on the save button as shown below.
Step 6. When all details are verified to be true, click on the validate button as shown below.
On the page that opens up, the system notifies you that you have an outstanding payment for the given invoice.
Step 7. On the same page after successfully recording, the credit note, click on the credit note as shown below to see the status of the credit note.
The status of this credit note is open as shown below.
